A Sting in the Tale
by Brian Clemens and Dennis Spooner
Director Keith Gledhill
This glorious spoof, a send up of almost every mystery thriller written for the stage with some wickedly witty lines.
Two playwrights, Max and Nigel, who have collaborated on a number of successful mystery plays, find their creative team effort in stasis, their financial resources rapidly dwindling, and are desperately searching for a new idea for their next play. Their method of working is to create a victim and then fit the mystery plot around the dead body. "We need a victim the audience would cheerfully hate," says Nigel just before his wife, Ann, walks into the playwrights' studio.
A cabaret style production. BYO drinks and nibbles.
