Mt Eliza Cricket Club has a major function upcoming on Friday, October 13 at the Canadian Bay Hotel, featuring three guests of honour: Test cricketer Bryce McGain, singer Tiana Martel and the many voices of entertainer Geoff Poulter.
The club is trying to raise $25,000 towards new nets. It has 13 teams and more than 200 club members.
The function is from midday to 3 p.m. upstairs at CB’s.

Bryce McGain is a local boy from Mornington who played one Test for Australia.
Emerging Australian blues and soul singer Tiana Martel (tianamartelmusic.com) is also appearing at the ‘Drive for 25’ event alongside guitarist Kieran Ryan-Colton.
Our warm-up man is evergreen sports writer and commentator Geoff Poulter whose ever-evolving Voices of Sport routine continues to delight.
MC for the day is well known sports writer and author Ken Piesse, who is one of he club’s assistant coaches.
Sporting memorabilia and other great silent auction items include a Sunset Cruise in a couta boat from Blairgowrie to Point Nepean and return.
